Privacy policy
A pre-launch outline of the information the final Family App privacy policy must cover.
This is not the final production privacy policy. Legal entity details, launch regions, retention periods, customer contact information, subprocessors, and customer rights must be reviewed and completed before public accounts are offered.
Information used by the product
Depending on the account and features used, Family App may process account identifiers and contact information; family membership; child or dependent profile names; event names, dates, times, addresses, notes, and participants; assignment and response history; invitations; notification state; and operational information needed to secure and maintain the service.
Why it is used
The product uses this information to authenticate customers, create private family spaces, coordinate events and responsibilities, keep devices synchronized, maintain important plan history, provide support, prevent abuse, and operate the service.
Service providers
The current architecture uses managed providers for hosting, authentication, database services, realtime delivery, app builds, and phone verification. The final policy must identify applicable providers and explain their role based on the production configuration.
Children and family profiles
An adult may create a profile for a child without creating a login. Optional child account access requires an adult-created setup and verification of the matching phone. The final policy must describe parental consent, age requirements, regional obligations, and deletion rights.
Choices and rights
The final policy will explain how customers access, correct, export, or delete information and how to contact the privacy team. Rights vary by location and must be implemented, not merely described.
Security and retention
Family access is designed around authenticated membership and server-enforced controls. No service can promise absolute security. Specific retention periods and deletion exceptions remain to be decided and will be published before launch.
