Responsibilities

Assign pickup and get a clear response

Understand pending, accepted, declined, and change-requested responsibilities.

These guides describe the current private-test experience. Mobile access is by invitation, and available features can depend on your test build.

Separate the event from the responsibility

An event describes what is happening. Attend, Drop-off, and Pickup describe who is responsible. You can assign different adults to the two rides.

For example, Leia is the participant at swimming. Mom handles drop-off and Dad handles pickup. Each adult responds to their own assignment.

Respond to your assignment

  1. Open the event from Home, Agenda, or an attention item.
  2. Select the responsibility assigned to you.
  3. Choose Accept, Decline, or Request change. Add a note if it helps explain your response.
  4. Send your response and check the saved status.

Only the current assignee can respond for that assignment. Choosing Request change does not automatically change the event time or give the responsibility to someone else; an adult needs to update the plan.

What each status means

A changed time or address needs a fresh answer, even if the earlier assignment was accepted. An accepted status records an agreement; it does not confirm that a ride has happened.

  • Unassigned: nobody has been asked to take this responsibility.
  • Pending: someone has been assigned, but has not accepted the current plan.
  • Accepted: the assigned person has agreed to the current details.
  • Declined: the person cannot take the responsibility; the plan still needs attention.
  • Change requested: the person has asked for an adjustment; the plan still needs attention.
